About Our PTSA

ABOUT MISSION VISTA HIGH PTSA

Mission Vista High Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is more than just your standard PTA.  We are an active, interested and collaborative group of parents, teachers and students with a common purpose, to make our school the best it can be, to enhance our children's education and to give our students a brighter future.

Our PTSA supports the Mission Vista High School which is the first dual magnet high school in VUSD and the only school in our district that offers the unique 4x4 schedule.  The new Mission Vista High School campus opened its doors in 2010. During MVHS's first year, its classes were held on the Washington Middle School campus.

Students from Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Escondido, Bonsall and Fallbrook comprise the student body of our great, unique school.

The Mission Vista High PTSA was chartered on August 11, 2009 at the Vista Unified School District (VUSD) offices.

THE PTA

Mission Vista High PTSA is a member of the California State PTA and the National PTA.  The PTA is the largest child advocacy organization in the nation and is actively involved with legislation and advocacy on behalf of all our children at all levels. The National PTA is comprised of more than 5 Million members and California's PTA comprises more than 1 Million of those members.  This gives our organization a VERY strong voice in Sacramento when advocating on legislative issues.

OUR MISSION

Mission Vista High PTSA is one of more than 25,000 local units of the National PTA approximately 380 such PTAs representing schools in the San Diego county.  As a member of the California state PTA, we share their mission which is to be a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.

OUR VISION

The Mission Vista High PTSA vision is to continually engage parents, students and teachers in efforts that will improve the Mission Vista High School, its students and the community.
